Classical Pilates Workout is equipped with specialized apparatus built
from the original design specifications and mechanics of Joseph Pilates's
own equipment.
The apparatus at Classical Pilates Workout is custom made by Gratz Industries - the only manufacturing company entrusted with Joseph Pilates' original designs.
Take a look at the individual apparatus in the studio by clicking on the sections below.
Apparatus at Classical Pilates Workout not only includes Pilates staples, like the Reformer and Cadillac, but also apparatus not frequently seen in Studios, such as the Guillotine Tower and Accessories.
The Cadillac was originally devised by Joseph Pilates when he was working
as a hospital nurse, to enable bedridden patients to exercise.
Sometimes known
as the "Trapeze Table", it is one of the most effective and versatile
pieces of exercise equipment ever to be engineered.

The Magic Circle can be used to challenge any exercise further, or on its own to tone and strengthen target areas.
The Magic Circle helps to gain balance and proper posture, strengthen the muscles in the arms and chest, strengthen and reshape the leg muscles and pelvis, and increase control of the Powerhouse.

The reformer provides finely tuned exercise that allows one to work very precisely to develop good alignment, core strength, and flexibility.
The Pilates Reformer is modeled after Joseph Pilates' first pieces used in his New York studio, and is designed with a moving carriage, springs, leather straps and a foot bar, allowing clients to perform exercises lying prone, supine, sitting and standing.
The straps, springs, and box provide a variety of exercises in a variety of positions. Joseph Pilates started all of his clients on the Reformer.

The Spine Corrector helps to enhance breathing, develop the arms and legs, work the spine to correct posture and movement, slim down bulky thighs, and massage the lower back.
Some challenging exercises take balance and control further. The Spine Corrector is excellent for opening the chest and straightening the upper back.

While many Pilates exercises are performed seated on top and pressing down on the step/pedal with your feet, others entail lying on the floor, standing straight up, lunging forward or doing push-up like moves with the arms.
The Wunda Chair offers greater balance and control of the body. It offers a whole range of activities including stretching the spine and hamstrings, and strengthening the Powerhouse, legs, feet, calves, Achilles tendon, gluteal muscles, and arms.
Adjustable springs allow for variation in tension and difficulty. The design enables exercises from many different positions, and can in fact convert to a functional ergonomically-minded chair for sitting. Joseph's famous quote "...the Wunda Chair belongs in every home and hotel in America" explains why he may have designed it for this dual purpose.
